BYU basketball cracks the AP top 25 after historic week

For the first time this season, the BYU men's basketball team has cracked the AP rankings, sneaking in at No. 25 on Monday's latest poll.

The Cougars are fresh off of a historic week, demolishing No. 23 Kansas by 34 points at home, then following up that performance with a 96-95 victory on the road against No. 19 Arizona.

It was the first time that the Cougars had beaten back-to back ranked opponents since 1988.

The Cougars are sitting at 19-8 on the season and 10-6 in conference play. They are the No. 27 ranked team on kenpom.com.

"Hopefully people will take note that need to take note," BYU head coach Kevin Young said in his postgame press conference after beating Kansas.

Now, virtually a lock for the NCAA Tournament, it looks like people are taking note of the Cougars.
