BYU men's and women's tennis ride hot streak to nationals

BYU football isn't the only team on campus looking at a national championship this year.

Both men's and women's tennis have officially qualified for nationals. Zach Fuchs and Wally Thayne qualified as a doubles team after beating two top-15 opponents this week. Bobo Huang and Kendall Kovick qualified as individuals.

Fuchs and Thayne became the first Men's doubles team to qualify for nationals since 2004. They had to face a gauntlet this week to earn their spot next week in nationals. They took down the No. 10 Washington and No. 13 California doubles teams this week.

Huang and Kovick both battle through the West Sectionals this weekend which included a 6-0 set wins over USC for both players.

Brackets for both tournaments will be revealed on Saturday. The NCAA tournament begins on Nov. 19 for both the men's and women's teams in Waco, Texas.
