BYU lands highest recruit since 2006 with 4-star tight end Brock Harris

BYU just secured its highest-rated recruit in 19 years.

Brock Harris is a four-star tight end and the No. 1 prospect of 2026 class coming out of the state of Utah.

According to 247Sports, BYU tight ends coach Kevin M. Gilbride was credited for recruiting Harris.

Harris’ 0.9719 rating on 247Sports makes him BYU’s third highest-ranked recruit of the modern rankings era. He’s also ESPN’s No. 33 overall prospect, the No. 56 overall recruit and the fifth-best tight end in the country on 247Sports.

Harris's commitment to BYU marks Kalani Sitake's highest ranked recruit.

With offers from Miami, Michigan, Georgia, Oregon, and even BYU’s rivals, Utah, Harris announced live on Instagram and 247's Ultimate College Football Show that he was committing to BYU.

Harris has ties to the program through his father, Todd Harris, who played baseball for the Cougars, as well as through regularly attending BYU camps over the past five years, according to KSL’s Mitch Harper.

Harris also is currently playing at Pine View High School in St. George, Utah. Recently, he had 527 yards, 41 receptions and nine touchdowns his junior year.

He is listed as 6-foot-6 and 238 pounds and is described as versatile and a “true every down tight end who can play in any situation."

After finishing his senior year of high school, Harris is expected to go on a mission before officially enrolling and joining the team in time for the 2027 season, as reported by Jackson Payne of the Deseret News.
