BYU duo Mika Krommenhoek, Mackenzee Vance earn Big 12 women's soccer weekly awards

In a social media post, BYU women’s soccer team announced that Mika Krommenhoek and Mackenzee Vance both won Big 12 awards on Wednesday.

The conference awards were the first for BYU this season.

Vance won Big 12 offensive player of the week. She scored a goal on Monday night’s matchup against Iowa State in Provo to help secure a 3-1 win.

As for Krommenhoek, she was named Big 12 freshman of the week. She scored her first-ever goal against OSU on Sept. 26 in the first five minutes of the match, which is the quickest-scored goal this season for the Cougars. Krommenhoek tallied two assists versus Iowa State on Monday night.

BYU women’s soccer team travels to Tucson, Arizona, to take on the Wildcats on Friday at 7 p.m. The Cougars are looking to secure a second straight win.
