'Big Noon Kickoff' coming to Provo for first time as No. 14 BYU faces Arizona

Arizona won’t be the only team coming to Provo this weekend.

On Sunday afternoon, Fox announced that its popular show Big Noon Kickoff will travel to Provo to see No.14 BYU (5-0, 2-0) play against unranked Arizona (3-2, 1-1) Saturday.

This will not only be the first time that "Big Noon Kickoff" will come to the state of Utah, it will also be its first time covering BYU.

“We are excited to welcome FOX Big Noon Kickoff to Provo,” said Tom Holmoe, BYU director of athletics. “It’s a great opportunity for BYU to showcase our football program, the ROC, Cougar Nation and the incredible atmosphere of football game day at LaVell Edwards Stadium."

For any BYU fans looking to engage in tailgate activities, hoist their homemade signs on live TV, or crowd surf Mark Ingram II (current "Big Noon Kickoff" sports analyst and former NFL player), the pregame show will start at 8 a.m. MDT in LaVell Edwards Stadium's west parking lot.

Along with that, the crew — including Rob Stone, Urban Meyer, Matt Leonard and Brady Quinn — will be featured as the halftime show for the game.

BYU fans can expect various activities and surprise appearances to be announced later in the week.

The last time the Cougars hosted a pregame show that was nationally televised was 15 years ago when ESPN’s "College Gameday" came to watch a No.16 BYU team face off against a No. 8 TCU. BYU will look for a different result this time as it lost to the Horned Frogs 38-7 then.

Big Noon Kickoff will also hope for a good game as the crew witnessed No. 4 Penn State (5-0) defeat unranked UCLA 27-11. The Nittany Lions led 27-3 before the Bruins (1-4) scored a last-second touchdown with 16 seconds left in the fourth quarter.

Entering the week, BYU’s No.14 ranking is its highest ranking of the season after a chaotic weekend full of upsets shook up the top 25.

Losses from No. 21 Missouri, No. 24 Michigan, and now unranked USC gave BYU the oppurtunity to rise three spots in the poll despite being on a bye week.

Arizona will be looking to bounce back after a 28-22 loss at home against Texas Tech, the current first-place team in the Big-12.

The Cougars will be looking to keep its perfect record intact. The game will be broadcast live on Fox at 2 p.m.
