Two BYU athletes, one diver and one swimmer, earned Big 12 weekly honors.
Chase Hindmarsh took home the Men’s Diver of the Week award, while Haylee Tiffany brought home Women’s Newcomer of the Week award.
Hindmarsh earned his honor with impressive numbers last week.
Hindmarsh recorded BYU men’s diving’s top finishes on platform (six dives) and 3-meter (six dives) in a tri-meet against No. 15 Texas A&M and TCU at the Rec Center Natatorium in College Station. This is his first time being recognized as Big 12’s Diver of the Week honor.
Hindmarsh is a senior at BYU and has been swimming for the Cougars since 2022. His highlights for BYU include helping the Diving relay team get to the NCAA Zone E Championship in 2024, All-Big 12 First Team on Platform (2024), and ranks No. 3 all-time at BYU on Platform.
Tiffany was able to score her award last week with her performances too. She proved versatile in six different events last week.
Her ability to win the 200 free, score a top-10 placement in both the 100 and the 500 and her participation in multiple relay races earning fifth and third place spots for her team.
BYU swim and dive reeled in two more weekly Big 12 recognitions with Haylee Tiffany winning Women's Newcomer of the Week and Chase Hindmarsh winning Men’s Diver of the Week, the conference announced on Wednesday.

Tiffany is also the younger sibling of another great BYU athlete, Jordan Tiffany. She is a freshman at BYU, and is proving the Tiffany name to be quite impressive in the water.
Her history in swimming runs deep with many awards such as Two-time Utah 6A Girl's 100 Free Champion (2023, 2024), USA Swimming Scholastic All-American (2023, 2024) and 11-time Utah 6A Girl's State Champion.
The Cougars and their teammates return to the pool in a dual meet against UNLV on Nov. 2 at 1 p.m. MDT.
