The former Baylor Bear entered the transfer portal on April 8 and committed to the Cougars on Thursday afternoon.
Wright was one of the most sought-after transfers after he decided to enter the portal. According to On3 Sports, he was ranked as the 10th-best player in the portal and the No. 4 point guard.
In his freshman season last year, Wright averaged 11.5 points, 2.1 rebounds, and 4.2 assists per game at Baylor.
In the one game Wright played against the Cougars, he exploded for 22 points and six assists in the Marriott Center.
As a high school recruit, Wright was the No. 1 point guard in the country. He played at Montverde Academy in Florida alongside potential NBA draft picks Cooper Flagg, Derek Queen and Asa Newell.
Coach Kevin Young continues to pursue the building of an NBA pipeline in Provo, and it appears that Wright has embraced the vision.
Wright will join AJ Dybantsa and company as Young begins his second year at the helm of BYU basketball.
