Medical
A woman was found unconscious at Heritage Halls building 12. Provo Fire & Rescue was successful in getting the patient to respond. The patient reported she hadn’t taken her medication and that she was fine.

A male student was playing ultimate Frisbee when he tripped over a concrete wall outside of Heritage Halls building 11. BYU Emergency Medical Services and Provo Fire & Rescue were able to provide treatment and sent the patient off to the to Intermountain Utah Valley Hospital by ambulance.

An adult female had a seizure north of the ASB. An officer assisted her until BYU and Provo emergency medical services arrived. They assessed her and released her to family members.

A female student was found unconscious in the cadaver lab of the LSB. Provo Fire & Rescue helped her regain consciousness and the patient was released to a friend. The automated external defibrillator was retrieved from the second floor, but wasn’t used.

An adult female with a history of knee problems dislocated her knee in West Campus. Provo EMS stabilized the knee and transported her to Utah Valley Hospital by ambulance.

A large plastic “Big 12” sign fell onto and injured a 5-year-old child during a women’s soccer game at South Field. The officer filed a report and notified BYU Risk Management.

A student fell and injured their knee in the parking lot of the ASB. Provo EMS aided the student and they were transported back to their place of residence.

A student at the ESC complained about a nosebleed. BYU EMS responded and the patient was attended to and released on scene.

Welfare check
A welfare check on a female student was requested by a parent. Officers were sent to the student’s location on campus, where she explained she was having no thoughts of suicide or self-harm, but just wanted to distance herself from her parents.

A female student was experiencing some mental health concerns at Helaman Halls. She agreed to begin taking her medications again and was self-admitted to the hospital.

A female was not answering dispatch after being disconnected from her SafeWalk app. She was located by an officer in her apartment.

Traffic
A student found their vehicle to have a scuff mark on its right rear bumper. There was no note at the scene and security cameras were not monitoring the area. An accident report was filed.

An officer was sent to retrieve a parking boot from a student who released his vehicle by paying online.

A complainant reported their car to have been damaged in Lot 46. Camera footage was unhelpful in identifying a possible suspect since only a portion of the area was covered.

Theft
A student reported her vehicle to be missing from Lot 33. Officers found the vehicle in Lot 56.

Criminal mischief
A group of minors were found to be making dry ice bombs at the Y trailhead. The minors were educated as to the dangers of dry ice bombs, cleaned up their mess and left without incident.

Suspicious
A student reported receiving suspicious text messages stating the sender knew of the student’s location. The officer recommended the student block the sender and delete the messages after documenting them. The officer made the student aware of the nature of scam texts and emails.

An officer contacted an associate professor who reported having a concerning conversation in class. Teaching basic writing processes, the professor had used phrases such as, “kill the ideas that don’t work.” Though commonly used when experiencing writer's block, a student privately expressed to the professor that those phrases may trigger homicidal thoughts in them. The case will be referred to investigators for follow-up.

Property damage
An officer on patrol backed into a parking bollard at the McDonald Building. There was damage to the rear bumper of the vehicle, but not to the bollard.

Agency assist robbery/assault
A minor was found at a UVX bus stop after curfew. An officer made contact, to which the minor reported he had been robbed and struck in the head with a firearm by other minors he knew. The victim was OK and the report was passed onto Provo Police for further investigation.

Motorist assist
A father accidentally locked his keys into his car, with his 3-year-old child stuck inside. The officer was able to unlock the vehicle and the child was OK.
