Property damage
A complainant asked for university surveillance footage to be reviewed to identify the cause of damage to her vehicle. Video surveillance is currently under review.
Welfare check
A dean of students requested a welfare check on an individual who stopped attending class and wasn’t responding to their attempts to contact. An officer was sent to the student's residence at Wyview Park, where a roommate answered and provided new contact information for the student, saying the student was currently in class and fine, as far as they knew. The officer attempted to contact the student with no success, but the new contact information was given to the complainant who said they would reach out again with the new contact information.
A complainant requested a welfare check on his daughter who suffers with mental health issues. Contact was made and she was deemed to not be a danger to herself or others.
An officer contacted a student via phone after a complainant reached out about them. The subject was reported to be fine and is planning on withdrawing from school.
A transient man was reported to be lying on the grass near the Wilkinson Student Center. The man was identified as one who had just been released from jail. The man was provided with a shuttle to the Provo Food and Care Coalition.
Accident
A student accidentally ran into a cement pillar while operating a university-owned vehicle. A report was filed.
A driver accidentally hit another vehicle while parking in Lot 39. An officer was able to contact both vehicle owners and information was exchanged.
A university vehicle hit another university vehicle that was parked, causing minor damage to the driver’s side mirror. The officer documented and photographed the damage and gave both parties a case number and instructions to report to their supervisors.
A student reported damage to their vehicle while it was parked in Lot 20. Surveillance footage is currently under review.
Citizen contact
A complainant reported their laptop to be missing. While reviewing surveillance footage, the complainant stated that they had found it.
A student ID was found off campus. An officer met with the caller, collected the ID and got into contact with the student.
A student reached out to police regarding questions about how to report a sexual assault. An officer was given the contact information for the University Police’s victim advocate, as well as Title IX resources.
A report of a suspicious male outside of an apartment complex was made. After searching surveillance footage, an officer did not find anyone matching the description.
Medical
University Police and EMS, along with Provo Paramedics responded to a report of an injured contractor at Riviera Apartments. Provo Paramedics transported the individual to the hospital and the officer notified the on-call administrator for the police department as well as Risk Management.
A player injured his knee at the Indoor Practice Facility. University Police and EMS responded and treated the patient before releasing him.
A student employee appeared to be unconscious at the Cougareat in the WSC. She was evaluated, released and chose to return back to work at her own request.
A student in Heritage Halls had a medical incident. After being treated, the patient was transported to the hospital via private party.
A student fell and hit his head in the Jesse Knight Building. After being assessed, he was given a ride to his vehicle.
A 22-year-old student had a seizure in the WSC. Provo Fire evaluated the student.
Stalking
A student reported stalking and harassment occurring on and off campus. An officer met with her, documented her concerns and informed the student about the Title IX Office, as well as the University Police Department Victim Advocate. She said she would contact the Title IX office and requested a call from the victim advocate.
Agency assist
A university police officer saw two vehicles who were involved in an accident near the intersection of 900 E and University Parkway parked in Lot 25. Provo Police were called to handle the incident.
Robbery alarm
A robbery alarm went off at the Creamery on Ninth. It is reported that the alarm had been triggered accidentally and the alarm was reset.
Damaged property
A motorcycle parked in the lot near Gate 11 was reported to be damaged. Surveillance footage is under review.
911 Hang-up
A 911 call was placed near the pedestrian overpass close to the Marriott Center. Background noise and conversation was heard before the call was hung-up. Officers were unable to contact the caller and an officer was sent to investigate.
Information
An onlooker reported a hit and run in Lot 4. Both vehicles left before an officer could arrive.
Threatening
A complainant reported feeling threatened by his ex-father-in-law during a custody exchange in front of the University Police Department. Officers are investigating this claim.
Fire-gas smell
A gas odor was reported at Wymount Terrace. An officer, University EMS and Provo Fire responded and tested the area. There was no gas present.
Disturbance
A report was made about loud music being played near the Creamery on Ninth. Upon arrival, an officer observed no music being played and no one to be present in the area.
