
Suspicious
Sounds of footsteps and a door opening were reported at Wyview Park. When officers checked the area, they found a student who was on their way to early morning work.
Officers responded to Wymount Terrace after receiving a report of a suspicious person in a vehicle near a laundromat. Upon arrival, the officers found that the individual was an employee working in the area.
Drugs
A piece of suspicious mail had been returned to the Hinckley Building multiple times. Upon opening the mail, they found what was thought to be a vape pen; however, it turned out to be a mechanical pencil and lead.
Property damage
A BYU employee backed a BYU-owned vehicle into a fence at the Missionary Training Center. There was no damage to the fence, and the driver sustained no injuries.
Medical
A child was having trouble breathing at Wyview Park. The child was treated and it was determined that they did not need to be transported to the hospital for further treatment.
An individual was riding his skateboard when he crashed, hitting his shoulder on the sidewalk, possibly breaking it. He was treated and given a ride to the Life Science Building, where he planned to have his shoulder X-rayed.
A male injured his knee at the Richards Building Field. He was evaluated by EMS and released at the scene.
Escort
An individual was experiencing knee pain and requested a ride to his vehicle in the Museum of Art parking lot.
Welfare check
An officer responded to the LSB for a Safe Walk welfare check. The individual was found to be okay.
Lost property
A set of keys were lost somewhere on campus. An officer gathered details about the keys and directed the student to the main lost and found areas on campus.
An individual reported his skateboard to be stolen from the Creamery in Heritage Halls. An officer checked the Creamery, and the skateboard was subsequently recovered.
Sex offense
An officer contacted an individual regarding a delayed sexual assault. The officer spoke with the victim, gathered basic information about the incident and explained that a victim advocate would contact them for further follow up.
Information
An officer responded to the report of a possible slashed tire. After reviewing the pictures, it appears that the tire was damaged by a road hazard.
An officer responded to a report of a potential person on the roof of the Cannon Center. Upon arrival, he accessed the roof via a hatch and confirmed that no one was present.
Alarm
Officers responded to the Student Athletic Building due to a glass break alarm. Upon arrival, they found the building open with employees inside, with no signs of a break-in.
An alarm was activated in the LSB Bio Labs. It was advised that it was a false alert.
A fire alarm was triggered at Wymount Terrace. It was advised that the alarm was triggered by cooking smoke.
Theft
An individual locked his bicycle to a bike rack in Wymount Terrace on March 19. When he went to retrieve it the next morning, he discovered that the lock had been cut and that the bike had been stolen.
Accident
A BYU garbage truck backed into an awning. The garbage truck incurred no damage, while the awning sustained minor damage.
A driver performed a U-turn near the Joseph Smith Building, resulting in a flat front tire and a bent tie rod after hitting the curb, which disabled the vehicle. The driver arranged for a tow truck to transport the car to a nearby repair shop.
