
Welfare check
A man was reported to be running around making loud noises near the Spencer W. Kimball Tower. The student stated that he was on the autism spectrum and was stimming, unaware that he was being loud. He told the officer he would be quieter.
A student was seen sitting on a planter box with his legs hanging over the edge of the top level of the Tanner Building parking garage. After making contact, the officer determined the student was not in danger and was simply enjoying the view while on the phone with a friend.
A person was seen sitting on the walkway above the guard shack in Lot 2 with their legs hanging over the side. Officers searched the overpass and surrounding area, but could not find the subject.
A female student didn’t complete her SafeWalk. An officer was able to go to her place of residence and make contact, where she was deemed safe.
A truck was parked at a construction site late at night. It was just construction workers working late.
Accident
A report was made of a tail light being broken in Lot 56. Surveillance footage is under review and a report is being prepared.
A suburban was exiting Lot 23, but could not merge into the lane due to heavy traffic congestion. The car was put in reverse and hit a Honda directly behind it, unaware that it was there. The Honda’s bumper was affected, but there were no injuries.
A vehicle backed into another car in Lot 27. Information was exchanged.
Two vehicles collided on North Wymount Drive. Information was exchanged.
A Nissan backed into a Toyota Tundra in Lot 27. The owner spoke with an officer.
A note was left on a car in Lot 19 of someone witnessing their car being hit. Surveillance footage was unable to identify the vehicle that hit it.
A student hit a deer on Cougar Boulevard. The car was fine and the deer ran away.
A Honda Civic struck a Honda CR-V while in a parking lot, causing the front axle to break and both airbags to deploy in the CR-V. Information was exchanged.
Medical
A student was playing basketball in the Richards Building when he fell on his tailbone. He was assisted to his car by University EMS.
A female in the Wilkinson Student Center Ballroom was reported to be feeling faint and feeling pain in her chest and arm. She was evaluated and treated before being released on the scene.
A female student in the WSC was feeling faint. She was treated and evaluated by EMS.
A student injured their foot during a performance in the WSC Ballroom. The student was treated and released.
An elderly female fell and injured her ankle in the Harold B. Lee Library. The patient denied any medical attention and was released.
A female player was injured during a women’s rugby game. She was treated and evaluated on the field before being transported to Utah Valley Hospital for further evaluation.
A female student passed out in an anatomy lab in the Life Science Building. She was treated at the scene.
A person passed out, fell, and sustained injuries to their head and ribs in the LSB. The patient was transported to Utah Valley Hospital.
A 20-year-old student was exercising on a treadmill in the Smith Fieldhouse when they became ill and passed out. The student was treated by EMS and was advised to seek further medical care.
Theft
A student reported the battery charger to their electric scooter to be missing from the basement storage room in Heritage Halls Building 6. A report was filed.
Found property
A BYU employee ID was found. Officers were able to return it to the owner.
A credit card was found and returned to its owner.
Ban letter service
A student attended a class he was not supposed to attend at the Jesse Knight Building. He was served a temporary ban letter.
Escort
A female requested transportation from West Campus to Wasatch Mental Health. She was transported without incident.
A female requested an escort back to her place of residence from the HBLL after seeing a male whom she had obtained a stalking injunction two years earlier. She was escorted back safely.
Lost property
A wallet was reported to be lost at the Marriott Center. The owner was able to locate the wallet via Airtag.
Nuisance
At 12:09 a.m. an officer responded to Heritage Halls for students being too loud. At about 12:53 a.m., the officer responded again after they were still being too disruptive. The officer took down their BYU ID numbers to document the incident.
Fire alarm
A student falsely pulled the fire alarm in the JKB, which led to an emergency evacuation. After reviewing surveillance footage, the student was able to be identified and charges were filed against them.
Citizen Contact
A student received texts and calls demanding money. An officer verified that it was a scam call.
Suspicious
An officer saw two individuals near the Ellsworth Building late at night. The couple was geocaching and had found a cache hidden near the building.
Information
A Segway was stolen from the men’s locker room in the SFLD. It was found in the Building Care office and returned to its owner.
A Segway was stolen from the RB. During the investigation, the complainant had reported that they found it.
A student reported their longboard to be missing. It was found at the Smoot Administration Building.
