An officer and BYU EMS responded to a report of an allergic reaction. BYU EMS evaluated the individual on the scene, and once cleared, the officer transported them to their apartment.
Police and fire crews responded after a 14-month-old was accidentally struck on the head when a complainant tripped in the dark. EMTs found no injuries, and the complainant was advised to call back if the child’s condition changed.

Found property
Missionary Training Center security found a driver’s license and student ID near the MTC and turned them over to BYU police. Officers identified the student and returned the items to their owner.
An officer responded to lot 52 after a toy airsoft gun was found in a storm drain and retrieved it. The item was photographed, bagged and turned over to detectives for documentation.
A wallet found near the Student Athlete Building about a week ago was collected, and officers contacted the owner, who said he’d lost it roughly a month earlier. The wallet was returned to him after verification.
An officer responded to the Smith Fieldhouse for a found‑property report and collected a wallet from the custodian’s office, leaving messages for the owner. The owner later returned the call, and the wallet was successfully returned.
An officer responded to the Smith Fieldhouse after a building care employee found a man's wallet following a volleyball game. The officer contacted the wallet's owner, who lives out of town, and was informed that he will return to campus tomorrow to retrieve it from the police station.
During a recent storm, a tree was uprooted and was lying on the ground, blocking the entrance to a parking lot. The tree was cleared from the roadway, and grounds crews were notified. Removal of the tree was scheduled for the following morning.
Unsecured door
During an extra patrol at the Marriott Center, an officer found three unsecured doors on the northwest concourse and secured them. The officer also removed a door stop holding open an east tunnel access door and secured the area.
Alarm
BYU police and Provo Fire responded to Wyview Park building 29 after a CO alarm, where crews confirmed elevated readings of 38 ppm and ventilated the apartment. Housing and Enbridge later arrived, and the resident returned once the area was cleared.
Officers responded to a fire alarm at Wymount Terrace after the resident was cooking a steak, which burned and triggered the alarm. The unit had been ventilated, and the alarm had turned off before officers arrived.
Welfare check
Officers responded to the Life Sciences Building after reports of a transient man on the fourth floor. They made contact, offered services and the man moved along.
A welfare check was initiated by BYU police dispatch on the Y Mountain trail. The person was not on BYU property but near Rock Canyon. The case was referred to Provo Police, which coordinated with its mountain rescue team to handle the situation.
An officer responded to help medical personnel with a report of a juvenile girl who injured her arm. BYU medical personnel treated her before the officer arrived.
Officers checked a vehicle reported stolen in the Tanner Building parking lot and confirmed through Metro Dispatch that it was listed on the NCIC database, though the owner had simply forgotten where he parked it. The owner was notified to retrieve the vehicle and clear the theft listing.
An officer stopped a vehicle at 800 N. 200 E. after it failed to stop at a stop sign and found it had no insurance. The driver was cited and warned, and the vehicle was impounded for the insurance violation.
During an extra patrol at the West Campus building, an officer found an exterior door on the southeast corner unlocked with its push bar set open and the handle broken off. The officer secured the door and notified dispatch to submit a repair order for the damaged handle.
Theft
An officer returned a call about a stolen bike after the complainant reported parking it near the Harman Continuing Education Building and later found it missing. The unknown suspect was last seen traveling east from campus into a nearby Provo neighborhood.
Officers responded to the Richards Building after a theft from the swim team’s locker room, where a victim reported his wallet, phone, AirPods and shoes missing during a high school meet. No suspects were identified, and the victim was advised to monitor their phone's location.
Suspicious
An officer investigated a suspicious bag at the north dock near the RB. Soon after, the reporting party called back to report that the bag's owner had returned to retrieve it. No further police action was required.
Officers responded to a noise complaint near Wymount Drive after several vehicles with backup beepers were reported making noise near the laundry area. The vehicles were gone when officers arrived, and the complainant did not request further contact.
Found person
A complainant observed a 3-year-old child running toward the road from an apartment complex with no parents in sight. The father was later found searching for the child, and they were safely reunited.
