Utah’s new K-12 education scholarship program has launched with over $80 million in funds available to students.
The Utah Fits All Scholarship is available to every K-12 child that is a resident of Utah and provides parents with an opportunity to access different educational options that are better suited for the unique needs of their child.
The scholarship was created as a way to provide more educational options to families in rural communities, according to their website
“The Utah Fits All Scholarship expands education opportunities to include additional educational paths for parents to use their taxpayer money to select what is best for their kids,” Utah Senator Stuart Adams said. “Supporting this scholarship means advocating for a future where educational choice is a right, not a privilege.”
The first scholarships were awarded in April for the 2024-2025 school year to 10,000 recipients. Each scholarship is $8,000 and can be used for private school tuition, tutoring, educational software, after-school activities and more, according to the website.
Last year 27,270 students applied for the scholarship, almost triple the number of scholarships available, Jackie Guglielmo, the vice president of education savings account programs at ACE Scholarships, said.
“High demand for the Utah Fits All Scholarship Program is proof that Utah families are hungry for high-quality educational options,” she said.
On Jan. 14, the Provo City School District discussed their plan to be added as a vendor within the Utah Fits All ClassWallet Marketplace. This would give scholarship recipients the option to use their funds to purchase programs offered by Provo City Schools.
“We look forward to hearing the stories of what the scholarship students experience and accomplish in their first year when given the power to customize learning to fit their unique needs, values and passions,” Robyn Bagley, the Utah Fits All parent advocacy organization executive director, said.
The scholarship application window for new students opened on Feb. 3, 2025 for the 2025-2026 school year. The application can be found on the Utah Fits All website
