The Toaster Oven offers recording, production services for local music artists

Aspiring artists in Provo can find recording equipment and production services through the local music production studio The Toaster Oven.

The company offers recording, engineering, mixing, mastering and more. Co-owners Bly Wallentine and Colin Foy started The Toaster Oven to support artists and give them an outlet to express themselves through song.

“I grew up around music, singing and started recording bands and couldn't stop,” Wallentine said.

The Toaster Oven provides instruments, microphones, audio gear and mixing tools to use. Wallentine said the recording spaces are meant to give artists the opportunity to play around with the different instruments and equipment to see what works best for them.

“Creating an environment that feels conducive to creativity,” Wallentine said.

The Toaster Oven has produced music for local artists Little Moon, Mindy Gledhill and many others.

“I love working with different musicians and seeing what their different processes are,” Foy said.

Foy said The Toaster Oven even printed five artists’ records on vinyl in 2024.

“We really try to keep it affordable and keep it accessible and work with artists within their budgets and where they're at,” Foy said, “and try to make the most of whatever, you know, their dream record is.”

Artists can book a free 30-minute tea session with the company to discuss the goals for their music by checking out @thetoasteroven.mp3 on Instagram.
