On March 18, 2025, the First Presidency of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints released their 2025 Easter message
President Russell M. Nelson, President Dallin H. Oaks and President Henry B. Eyring shared the meaning of Easter and invited all to "come unto Jesus" and celebrate His resurrection.
“The Resurrection is a gift to all of Heavenly Father’s children who have ever lived on this earth,” they said.
The main message of the Easter statement was to emphasize that Christ can ease our burdens through the power of His atonement and infinite sacrifice.
The statement quoted Isaiah 53:4-5:
Hannah Gunther is a participant in “The Lamb of God,” an Easter concert production that details Christ’s ministry, suffering, death and resurrection.
“We're all just bearing testimony of His life and His works and His goodness,” Gunther said.
Gunther said there is a focus on hope and putting trust in God throughout the performance.
“To me, Easter means hope, a fresh start,” Gunther said.
The statement from the First Presidency also discussed Christ’s love and how He knows and understands each of us individually.
“We testify that Jesus Christ gives rest to those who are ‘heavy laden’ (Matthew 11:28

“He loved us so much that He suffered and died for us. Then, on the third day, He rose again. His Resurrection means we will all live again,” the website said.

Gunther is also the Relief Society President for Provo’s 37th YSA ward. She said presidencies and ward leadership work to help members understand and remember the meaning of Easter in their Sunday meetings.
To do this, Gunther said they often hold musical firesides, Easter sacrament meetings and have lessons focused on Christ's "redemption and His strength."
“I think there’s a lot more to be explored,” Gunther said.
To close the statement, the First Presidency invited readers to hold close to their temple covenants in order to "enrich" their lives.
“May you find hope, healing and happiness as you draw nearer to the Savior of the world this Easter season,” the statement said.
Easter Sunday will be on April 20, with Holy Week beginning on Palm Sunday, April 13.
