Latter-day Saints from around the world gathered in the Conference Center for the Saturday morning session of the 195th Annual General Conference, to be uplifted and strengthened by messages from prophets and apostles of God.
The session began with Church members sustaining General Authorities and General Officers, including a new Young Men general presidency.
Following the sustainings, President Jeffrey R. Holland, Acting President of the Quorum of the Twelve, invited each person to become as a little child.
“Is there anything sweeter, more pure or more humble than a child at prayer?” President Holland asked.
President Camille N. Johnson, general president of the Relief Society, taught that we can choose to be made whole through the Savior.
“All will be physically and emotionally healed in the resurrection,” she said. “But will you choose now to be whole in Him?”
Elder Ronald A. Rasband of the Quorum of the Twelve testified of the hastening of the Lord’s work in preparation for the Second Coming.
“In the growth of the Church and the plan of Christ, hastening is happening and we are all a part of it,” Elder Rasband said.
A common thread of hope in the Savior ran throughout the session.
“I love my Savior, and my love for Him is my 'why,'” Elder Ricardo P. Giménez of the Seventy said.
President Henry B. Eyring, second counselor in the First Presidency, closed the session by urging listeners around the world to come unto Christ.
“Jesus Christ loves us,” President Eyring said. “He offers each of us the opportunity to draw closer to Him.”
The powerful testimonies of Jesus Christ deeply impacted those who attended conference.
“Through His Atonement, we have nothing to fear,” Kimo Fuller, a conference attendee from Ewa Beach, Hawaii, said. “He is always there.”
It wasn’t just the speakers who brought the Spirit — the Tabernacle Choir at Temple Square sang stirring hymns that touched hearts.
“Oh, the last one was called? It was ‘Come, Come, Ye Saints,’” Rae’lynn Hibbert from American Fork, Utah, said. “It was so powerful. That was amazing. I felt the Spirit so strong.”
Many who attended said this session answered their prayers.
