Valore, a Provo jewelry studio, is offering workshops to help people craft their own rings.
"I just love the artistic style and how everyone makes their own rings," Kate Van Moorlehem, a Valore silversmith, said. "It's not as hard as you think it is, and a lot of people come in and they're like, 'Oh, I'm so bad at this!' And I'm like, 'No, you're actually doing really good.'"
Valore offers a variety of workshops, including classic gold and silversmithing, spoon ring making and permanent jewelry.
MJ Jensen, a recent participant in a spoon ring workshop, said that there is something special about making and wearing one's own piece of jewelry.
"It's kind of fun being able to create something, because then it just becomes a lot more unique and special to you," Jensen said. "It's kind of about the experience. It's always been a good time coming here."
Van Moorlehem says her favorite workshop is the silversmithing stacker ring class. Guests start by choosing a band, shape it with a hammer, prepare it for firing and stretch and polish it to perfection.
