President Nelson speaks on the Second Coming during Sunday’s Afternoon session of General Conference

Members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints left the Conference Center feeling inspired after a weekend full of uplifting messages, concluded with the Sunday afternoon session.

The final session of general conference is well-known for new temple announcements. President Russell M. Nelson did not disappoint with 17 new temples.

President Nelson delivered a recorded message on Sunday afternoon and presided the afternoon session. He recently celebrated his 100th birthday.

In his concluding remarks, President Nelson declared that the Second Coming is near.

“Brothers and sisters, now is the time for you, and for me, to prepare for the Second Coming of our Lord and Savior, Jesus the Christ,” President Nelson said.

President Nelson directly referenced the Second Coming a total of five times in his talk.

Conference attendees said they felt empowered after hearing the Prophet’s declaration.

“Of course President Nelson’s message was just so wonderful, he just kept talking about the Second Coming and how this was the time to prepare,” conferencegoer Josh Williams from Gilbert, Arizona said.

President Nelson, along with other speakers in the session, invited members to make discipleship their highest priority.

“So today, I call upon you to rededicate your lives to Jesus Christ. I call upon you to help gather scattered Israel and to prepare the world for the Second Coming of the Lord!” President Nelson said.

Members left the Conference Center with renewed faith after President Nelson's address.

“I feel like the Savior is coming very fast,” Rose Kendrick from Tremonton, Utah said.

“The best is yet to come, my dear brothers and sisters, because the Savior is coming again!” President Nelson said.
