Women's Resources HIGH Fitness Event

Women's Resources High Fitness event

BYU's Women's Resources Center wrapped up its 10 day "Be You" campaign with a unique event aimed at empowering women to embrace authenticity and overcome perfectionism.

The women's resources center teamed up with Y fitness to host a high fitness class as the final event of the "Be You" campaign.

Throughout the week students were invited to different workshops, discussions and activities that focused on building confidence and pushing back against the pressure to be perfect.

The high energy workout really solidified that message to students in a physical way.

Women from across campus joined the upbeat class to connect with each other, move their bodies and celebrate the campaign's message of self acceptance and supporting each other in tackling that feat.

They felt that ending the campaign by moving together was a message to everyone that it doesn't matter if you miss the beat of the music, or feel awkward, moving is more important than being perfect and being together builds confidence.

For the women's resources team, ending the week with movement was intentional, showing students that strength and community are more valuable than striving for perfection and that moving together can make a difference.
