BYU held its annual Unforum on April 8, where students watched performances and heard from President C. Shane Reese.
Student Body President Sarah Sun and Vice President Tala Alnasser opened by announcing some of BYU’s accomplishments this year, including when BYU fans raised over $50,000 to benefit the high school principal of an opposing teams quarterback, or how BYU students abroad broke the nation's record for the greatest amount of study abroad participation in the nation.
The Unforum took time to recognize the nine student athletes who represented BYU at the 2024 Paris Olympics, including Clayton Young, Connor Mantz, Kenneth Rooks, Courtney Wayment, James Corrigan, Jimmer Fredette, Rory Linkletter, Whitni Morgan and Stephanie Rovetti.

The Unforum showcased performances from various student groups, including battle of the band's champions Just Khakis, Young Ambassadors, Living Legends and the BYU Dunk Team.
Caleb Rogers, the elected 2025-26 BYUSA president, announced several students, faculty and staff who won awards through the Brigham Awards program.
In his closing remarks, President Reese shared his admiration for the students at BYU.
“You're so much better than you even realize you are. You all have such incredible, divine potential, and it is my honor to be counted among you,” he said.
Reese showed his support to BYU students as they prepare for finals and graduation, and reminded them that he loves and supports them.
“I hope you have incredibly good luck that all the things you studied this semester are brought readily to your mind as you prepare for finals,” he said. “I just want all of you to know that I see you, I love you, and I pray the Lord's choices blessings on you as you approach the end of this school year.”
After the event was over, Ryan Baldwin, a junior at BYU, shared his appreciation for this year’s Unforum.
“I love being able to see all the different ways BYU can celebrate just being BYU,” Baldwin said. “I think it's awesome that we have people from so many different activities, so many different organizations, that they all actually got a chance to be highlighted, it's great. I have some friends who helped plan this and I think their hard work really paid off."
