Studio 1030 salon serves BYU community

Between exams, deadlines and busy schedules, self-care has often fallen to the bottom of the to-do for students. But at Studio 1030, clients can step away from the stress of campus life and into the salon chair without ever leaving Brigham Young University.

Located in the Wilkinson Student Center basement, Studio 1030 offers a wide range of services for students, staff and community members to enjoy.

“Highlighting, colors, haircuts, all the things, and then we do nails and facials and waxing: facial waxing,” Brooke Staheli, Studio 1030 hairstylist, said.

Studio 1030 is open to everyone, but was designed with students in mind. Lower prices have made it easy for clients to get the care they need without breaking the bank.

"Compared to other salons, especially I feel like in Provo, it's a lot cheaper and more just like budget-friendly for the students," Staheli said.

Not only is the salon affordable, it's also accessible. Students without cars have been able to reach the salon without needing a ride.

The salon has many friendly and supportive employees who have helped make their clients feel welcomed and loved.

Sydney Boswell, one of the salon receptionists, said she has found joy in complimenting others.

"So I think when you're showing yourself love, it helps you to also like emulate love towards others as well," Boswell said.

From small trims to big transformations, Studio 1030 has helped members of the BYU community look and feel their best.
