
CO alarm
A carbon monoxide alarm was activated at Wyview Park. BYU Police and Provo Fire Department responded and confirmed elevated CO levels in the apartment. The unit was ventilated and reported to BYU for further investigation.
Theft
Two Wymount Terrace residents reported their electric scooters stolen from their balconies, one on June 14 and another on June 15. Neither scooter was secured to a structure. Campus police advised students to report any information related to the thefts.
Suspicious
Two teenage boys were reported in Lot 25, purportedly attempting to falsely register for an FSY event that had already ended. One of the individuals reportedly urinated in public. The pair arrived and departed in a black Tesla. The incident is under investigation.
Police responded to West Campus after a suspicious individual requested to sleep in the building. Officers found no sign of the person and cleared the building.
Agency assist
A man was reportedly attempting to force entry into a vehicle off campus. He was described as a man of indian descent with a thick accent and holding several plastic bags. BYU and Provo Police searched the area but found no sign of the suspect.
Welfare check
BYU Police responded to the HR Building after a participant in the FSY program made concerning comments about suicide. Officers determined additional care was needed, and the individual was taken to Vantage Point.
Information
An officer inspected a scene where a suspicious man reportedly asked to use a woman’s phone. The officer didn’t detect anyone or anything suspicious.
Medical
A BYU employee reportedly fell and hit his head at the Harman Building. He was alert after the fall but was believed to have an arm injury. BYU Police and Provo Fire evaluated him and transported him to the hospital.
Traffic
A BYU employee reported vehicle damage believed to have occurred while parked in Lot 13. BYU Police reviewed camera footage but found it did not capture the spot where the vehicle was parked.
Police assisted in directing traffic on University Parkway after a paint can spilled on the road.
A reckless driver was reported near Heritage Halls. Based on photo evidence, police contacted the driver and determined no reckless driving had occurred. The driver was issued a verbal warning.
Fire
A manual fire alarm was activated at the Brewster Building. When police arrived, they found no sign of smoke or fire. The alarm was inspected, and a system malfunction is suspected.
