BYU journalism students cover the presidential election from Washington D.C.
Journalism students in the BYU School of Communications had the opportunity to travel to Washington D.C. to report on the presidential election for The Daily Universe.
“Not only did I have a blast in D.C. sightseeing and filming with my friends but I truly felt the most patriotic and appreciative of how everyone can have a voice in deciding who will lead our country,” journalism student Emily May said.
Students had the opportunity to conduct interviews and stories on voting centers, election watch parties, speeches and more. They also had the opportunity to do some sightseeing around the city with their peers and professors which included a temple trip to the Washington, D.C. temple.
Sorensen Center initiative hosts post-devotional discussions
Every Tuesday, the Inspired Leadership Initiative hosts a discussion following the weekly BYU campus devotional or forum.
The initiative is led by the Sorensen Center and provides students with opportunities to develop their leadership skills and engage in conversations about Christ-centered leadership.
The post-devotional meetings are held in the McDonald Building's multipurpose room. Attendees are invited to share the lessons and insights they gained from the devotional. Snacks are always provided.
