Education Week: Jared Halverson teaches how to fortify faith

Professor Jared M. Halverson spoke in the Marriott Center, giving three talks on "Fortifying the Foundation" on Monday, Aug. 18.

His first focused on faith in God, the second on faith in the Savior and the third on faith in the Holy Ghost.

Halverson is a religion historian and professor at BYU who loves helping those who may be struggling in their faith.

Education Week attendee Kenneth Nelson said he sees the impact of these lessons in his own family.

“As grandparents, we see our grandchildren having to work through those. ‘I’ve made all these mistakes. What am I going to do to get through those mistakes and back to a relationship with our Savior and with our Father?'" he said.

Another attendee, Carol Mitchell, has been coming to Education Week for more than 10 years. She says she plans to continue attending.

“I love Education Week. I love being here. There’s a special spirit, and all of the teachers bear really strong testimonies. I think we just become better people because of that,” she said.

Education Week continues to uplift attendees from many different places and backgrounds.
