David A. LeFevre, a lecturer at Brigham Young University’s Education Week, delivered a presentation titled "Book of Mormon Evidences and Discoveries" focusing on the historical aspects of Lehi’s journey through Arabia as described in the Book of Mormon.
LeFevre, who earned a bachelor’s degree in history from BYU, has been a prominent speaker at the event for over two decades.
In his latest class, he presented an overview of Lehi’s journey by incorporating insights from various experts and explorers.
Kurt Fertig, an instructor at Ensign College and a second-time attendee of Education Week, praised the lecture.
“It’s just fascinating that Joseph Smith couldn’t have known any of that geography in his day, even with all the sources available to him,” Fertig said. “But if you consider the timing and directions of the journey, those places actually exist.”
Denise Butler, a long-time participant in BYU Education Week, shared her enthusiasm for the event.
“I’ve been coming for 35 years,” Butler said. “I feel like it keeps expanding my mind and I keep learning more. My brain needs that, and my spirit needs that.”
Education Week continues to offer valuable insights and inspiration to attendees, covering a broad array of topics and fostering both intellectual and spiritual growth.
