Brigham Young University has a beautiful, well-maintained campus. A team of custodians works hard to keep it clean.
"We have like three different shifts. Here, we have like a shift in the morning at 5 a.m. And then we have a shift in the afternoon, and then we have someone helping the end in the evening," Felipe Pasini, building operations manager, said.
"I'm a student custodian and what I usually do every day is just do the main tasks like trash, bathrooms, vacuum to make the building to look good and be ready for classes," Jenny Galvez, student custodian, said.
The student custodians work throughout the day to make sure the building is clean no matter what time it is.
"I have to make sure, also, the afternoon classes have the same quality as morning classes," Galvez said.
Campus custodians also work hard to maintain a spiritual environment.
"Every morning we start with opening prayer because I feel like involving the Lord in our day to keep us safe and help us to keep a good environment during the day," Pasini said.
A focus on service is a part of their mission.
"Let's not just do our normal tasks, we're here to serve," Pasini said.
This includes going above and beyond to keep campus well-maintained.
