BYUSA kicks off the school year with True Blue Foam event

True Blue

The BYU Student Student Service Association hosted the True Blue Foam event on Sept. 13 at Helaman Fields.

Students dove down a slide of soap, suds and blue foam to show off their school spirit.

The event is a favorite tradition of students and fosters motivation for events on campus.

“This is definitely one of the biggest, one of the most traditional events on campus,” Miriam Call, BYU director of student activities said.

Students wore blue BYU attire and protective goggles for the slide.

Many freshmen attended the event and shared aspects of BYU they are excited for.

“I think just trying out all that BYU has to offer. Like, there's a lot of clubs like Y-Serve. That's really exciting,” BYU freshman Abbie Hansen said.

Students were limited to one time down the slide to let the large number of students participate.

Afterwards students were led to a cleaning station where they could wash off any blue residue from the slide.

Even Cosmo the Cougar made an appearance.

“My favorite part is just watching everyone get hyped up as they get to see the slide and go down in the foam. It’s such a cool experience,” Call said.

With 11 weeks left in the semester, BYUSA encouraged students to attend more BYU events.
