The Bean Life Science Museum hosted a "Survival of the Weirdest" trivia night on Feb. 22.
Emma Olsen, a Bean Museum student educator, said that trivia nights are one of her favorite activities at the museum.
"You do trivia about life science and a little bit of pop culture, so you get a little bit of everything," she said.
Families, friends and couples on dates competed in the trivia night.
Daniel Olson came to the event with friends and family. The game got competitive, he said.
"There was some, you could say, plotting," Olson said. "Not evil plotting, just plotting to try to win."
Trivia questions focused on bizarre animal facts, quirky habits and strange names.
"It surprised me that someone was allowed to name a spider the 'sparkle muffin spider.' That was ridiculous. That should not be allowed," Olson said.
Despite the usually strict "no-phone" rule, the night ended with a round of Kahoot.
Organizers awarded the winners Bean Museum bucket hats. Everyone else received consolation cookies.
