Utahn Taylor Booth making his way to the Olympics

The official roster for the U.S. Men's Olympic soccer team has been announced and Taylor Booth from Eden, Utah, has made the cut. This week he was named to the 18-player roster for the U.S. Men's soccer team, which qualified for the Games for the first time since 2008.

Booth is one of the 25 athletes with ties to Utah who qualified or were selected to represent the United States at the 2024 Paris Olympics. He is currently a midfielder for the FC Utrecht in Netherlands where he recently signed a contract extension, but will be representing Team USA as a forward.

'What makes the Olympics so special is just Americans will watch the games even if they're not fans of soccer,' Booth told the Desert News. 'I think having our families there, having everyone back home supporting us, it'll be special, and it will give us extra motivation as well.'

For the group stage, the United States is in Group A with France, New Zealand and Guinea. The U.S. will take on France on July 24, New Zealand on July 27, and Guinea on July 30.
