Cougars in the NFL: week 13 recap

Puka Nacua:

Puka Nacua helped the Los Angeles Rams clinch the win vs the Cleveland Browns. In the process, Puka set a franchise record for a rookie in receiving yards. He has 77 receptions for 1,029 yards. 

Against the Browns, the Rams won 36-19. However, Puka left the game the second quarter with injuries to his shoulder and ribs. After being scanned and checked out by doctors, he came back the second half.

Puka had four receptions for 105 yards including a 70-yd touchdown run. 

Taysom Hill:

The New Orleans Saints lost to the Detroit Lions 33-28 after a solid comeback attempt when the saints were down 21-0. 

Taysom Hill was a crowd favorite with 13 carries for 59 yards and a 1-yd rush touchdown in the third quarter. 

In fact, Saints fans booed the starting quarterback, Derek Carr, for checking in for Taysom Hill. 

Taysom Hill and the Saints face the Carolina Panthers next week. 

Jamaal Williams:

Jamaal Williams had five carries for ten yards and had one reception to help the Saints. 

He also made the NFL’s Twitter for his dance moves. 

Fred Warner:

Fred Warner faced the 10-1 Philadelphia Eagles and helped the San Francisco 49ers clinch the win 42-19 making their record 9-3 this season. Warner had 4 total tackles. The 49ers face the Seahawks next Sunday. 

Tyler Allgeier:

Allgeier and the Atlanta Falcons beat the New York Jets 13-8. Allgeier had eight carries for 26 yards. The Falcons face the Tampa Bay Buccaneers next Sunday. 

Blake Freeland:

The Indianapolis Colts snagged the win vs the Tennessee Titans 31-28. Blake Freeland played in 68 snaps with an offensive grade of 60.2. The Colts face the Cincinnati Bengals next week. 

Sione Takitaki:

Against the Rams, Sione Takitaki had 4 total tackles. The Browns face the Jaguars next Sunday. 

Zach Wilson:

Zach Wilson and the Jets lost to Tyler Allgeier and the Atlanta Falcons 13-8. Zach Wilson did not play. The Jets face the Texans next Sunday. 

Other Cougars:

Jaren Hall and Khyiris Tonga on the Vikings had a bye week and face the Raiders next Sunday. Also, Kyle Van Noy on the Ravens had a bye week and will face the Rams next Sunday. 

Other former Cougars on active rosters who did not see playing time were Chris Brooks and Michael Davis. Dax Milne remains on injured reserve with the Washington Commanders. 

Other cougars on practice squads are Zayne Anderson with the Packers. Kaleb Hayes with the New York Giants, Matt Bushman with the Kansas City Chiefs, Daniel Sorensen with the Saints, and Chris Wilcox with the Chargers.
