The Office of Belonging named Carl Hernandez III as the new vice president. Hernandez is a law school professor and has served on BYU’s Committee on Race, Equity and Belonging.
Hernandez plans to address and implement recommendations provided by the committee after an in-depth report on the university. President Kevin J Worthen said the Office of Belonging is central to the school’s goals to root out racism and combat prejudice.
The Office of Belonging will move to the second floor of the Wilkinson Student Center in the location of the Office of Success and Inclusion.
