Provo police are encouraging citizens to register their bikes. Bike registration helps police locate bikes when they are stolen.

“Not only is it something that Provo City has made easy to do, it’s actually required by Provo City ordinance,” Provo police detective Paul Shade said.

To register a bike, owners need the serial number found on the bike frame and any specific details about the bike. Specific details aid police in locating the stolen property and compensating owners for missing or damaged parts.

Bikes can be registered at provopolice.com.
