WalletHub recently ranked Utah the top state in the country for charitable giving.

The rankings take into account 19 key indicators of charitable behavior, from volunteer rate to share of income donated to share of sheltered homeless. In monetary donations and volunteer hours, Utah respectively ranked 5th and 2nd. The report included Utah on a group of “Richest & Most Charitable States.”

In the recently released 2021 World Giving Index, the United States has dropped to number 19 in the worldwide charitable giving rankings, having previously ranked in the top 10 countries. WalletHub also found giving increased during the COVID-19 pandemic.
