Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders announced Feb. 19 he will be running for president in 2020. Sanders will be up against a number of other strong candidates, as well as other high-profile Democrats still considering candidacies, such as former Vice President Joe Biden and former Texas Rep. Beto O’Rourke.

Memorial speaks to North Korea’s ties to summit host Vietnam

Fourteen headstones mark the original burial ground for North Korean pilots who died while fighting in secret alongside Vietnamese soldiers during the Vietnam War. The Communist nations’ friendship is still apparent decades later as Vietnam prepares to host the second summit between President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un next week.

French rally against anti-Semitism; Macron visits cemetery

Citizens and officials from around France prepared on Tuesday to rally against anti-Semitism, following a series of anti-Semitic acts. Anti-Semitism in France surged last weekend after hate speech was directed at philosopher Alain Finkielkraut during a march of anti-government protesters. The French government registered 541 anti-Semitic incidents in 2018, up 74 percent from 311 in 2017.
