Budget deal allows far less money than Trump wanted for wall

Members of Congress and congressional negotiators have successfully reached a budget agreement thereby preventing a government shutdown. Republicans agreed to significantly less money for 55 miles of new barriers along the Mexico border.

Despite continued tension between the U.S. and Iran, Minoo Sharifan — who came to the U.S. in the 1970s — is working to help young immigrant children build a connection to their Iranian heritage. Sharifan is also working to create better understanding of Iran culture among U.S. natives.

NBA opening investigation of Simmons-Johnson meeting request

Philadelphia 76er Ben Simmons caught the attention of NBA executives after meeting with Los Angeles Lakers president Magic Johnson. Despite claiming the meeting was to discuss playing tips, the NBA is investigating to determine if league rules were broken. This is not the first time the league has been suspicious of the Lakers over tampering, last year they fined the team $50,000 when Johnson made a comment about Milwaukee player Giannis Antetokounmpo on ESPN.

BYU Cougarettes wowed fans at a basketball game Feb. 10. Cosmo also joined the nationally ranked dance team in a routine choreographed to a mash-up of popular hip-hop songs. A video of the Cougarettes dancing with Cosmo at a football game half-time show went viral in 2017.
