Judge: Bennett’s son can join Utah race to replace Chaffetz

A federal judge ruled on Wednesday, Aug. 2 that Jim Bennet, son of late U.S. Sen. Bob Bennet, be allowed on the November ballot in the special election to replace Jason Chaffetz in Congress. Utah state officials are against the decision but say they won’t appeal it.

The latest attack at President Donald Trump’s credibility questioned the compliments Trump described receiving from the Mexcian president and the Boy Scouts. White House press secretary Sarah Sanders said the compliments did happen, just not on the phone as Trump had claimed.

President Donald Trump works with Sens. Tom Cotton of Arkansas and David Perdue of Georgia to propose legislation to reduce legal immigration. The new legislation aims to replace current processes for obtaining legal permanent residency with a skills-based point system for employment visas.
