Utah's largest community job fair will be held Wednesday, March 29 from 2:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Utah Valley Convention Center in Provo.
More than 100 employers are expected to attend the fair including IM Flash, Intermountain Healthcare and Northwestern Mutual. The event will provide students an opportunity to meet with a wide range of employers from across the state, according to Workforce Development Specialist with the Department of Workforce Services Patrick Donegan.
“This job fair isn’t just about finding work, but about finding the opportunity that is best for you,” Donegan said. “Whether you are seeking employment for the first time or looking to further your career, you’ll find opportunities at this event.”
President of Utah Valley Chamber of Commerce Rona Rahlf said students can expect to meet with a wide variety of companies at the job fair, from large companies to small. She said she recommends students prepare a 20-second introduction to differentiate themselves from the rest of attendees, be memorable and follow up with the companies after the event.
'Dress in your best clothes, wear a smile, offer a handshake, look them in the eyes and be open to the different possibilities of careers and employment,' Rahlf said.
Attendees who pre-register will be eligible for prizes at the event, although pre-registration is not required for attendance.
