Utah's Hogle Zoo is preparing for a new addition in December from one of its pregnant giraffes.

The Deseret News reports 12-year-old giraffe Kipenzi is about halfway through her nearly 15-month gestational period, with a calf expected to drop in December. Baby giraffes can weigh close to 150 pounds and stand around 6 feet tall.

This is Kipenzi's third pregnancy, and zoo officials say they do not expect any problems.

The Hogle giraffe herd currently has one male and three females, including Kipenzi, and one 3-month-old female calf. It is unknown if the current or expected calf will be allowed to stay at the Utah refuge.
