BYU's BRAVO! series at the College of Fine Arts and Communications welcomed Complexions to BYU last Friday. Complexions, a world leader in contemporary ballet based in New York, performed multiple numbers at the De Jong Concert Hall.
Dwight Rhoden and Desmond Richardson, founding artistic directors of Complexions, have combined ballet along with contemporary dance for the past 20 years.
Ivy Dean, a pre-nursing student at BYU who has a history in dance, found the performance to be impressive.
'I liked how good the dancer's technique is and how they've incorporated ballet and contemporary together and their use of the music,' Dean said after the performance.
BRAVO! will conclude their 2015-16 season with a final performance on Mar. 17 by Chinese pipa-master, Wu Man. Their schedule and other information can be found here.
