Theft

Dec. 15 — Two wallets were reported missing, one was located in the lost and found missing only the cash.

Dec. 4 — Jan. 4 — Three bikes were stolen from various locations around campus.

Dec. 11— A student discovered that parts of his bike had been removed and replaced with cheaper parts.

Dec. 7 — A car was stolen from a parking lot at Wymount Terrace, but was later found in Provo.

Harassment/Disorderly Conduct

Dec. 15 — A person was harassing a student by shining a laser pointer into a Helaman Halls room.

Dec. 14 — Individuals were reported throwing snowballs at windows, but upon the officers arrival, the group had left.

Fireworks

Dec. 4 — University Police responded to an unattended, burning flare and put it out.

Domestic Violence

Dec. 16 — University Police responded to a report of a verbal disagreement in Wymount. When the police arrived one of the arguing individuals had left.

Dec. 17 — An individual was reported yelling and crying in Wymount, but the responding officer determined that the individual was OK.


Provo


Wanted Person

Dec. 16 — Provo Police are requesting assistance in locating Jonathan Sells, a 30-year-old Provo resident. Sells has allegedly been involved in recent burglaries, stolen vehicles and credit card frauds. He also allegedly is in possession of several stolen firearms. Sells is 5 feet 9 inches tall with black hair and brown eyes. Any information about Sells’s location should be reported to Provo Police at (801) 852-6210.

Sexual Harassment

Dec. 11 — Provo Police received reports of a male exposing himself in the lower campus area of BYU, in particular the intersections 800 N. and 200 East, and 600 N. and 600 East. The man will watch females cross through the crosswalks, drive into the crosswalk and stop his vehicle, then expose himself and drive off. He is described as a white male in his late 30s or 40s and has a long brown beard and a large stomach. The man was driving a 1990s style sedan in a silver or lighter color. Any additional incidents or information about this man should be reported to University Police at (801) 422-2222 or Provo Police at (801) 852-6210.


Orem


Missing Persons

Jan. 3 — Two “runaway” teenage girls were found in the apartment of their mother after missing for more than a year. The mother had lost custody of the girls to her husband. In July 2014, the girls came to visit their mom and were reported missing by her. The mother claimed the girls were supposed to meet her at 6 p.m. on July 11, 2014 outside University Mall, but they never showed up. At 3 a.m. Orem Police received a tip which led them to the mother’s apartment. The mother was taken into custody and booking to Utah County Jail, and the girls were taken into custody until arrangements could be made for them.

Homicide

Dec. 28 — A woman was reported murdered at 1675 S. 400 East in Orem, Utah. The man who shot her killed himself in a standoff with the police in Eagle Mountain.
