Park City's new logo combines the symbol and font from the old Canyons Resort logo. Vail Resorts bought Park City for $182 million last year.
Vail Resorts announced on Wednesday that Park City and Canyons ski resorts will be combining under a new logo and name, making Park City the biggest resort in the nation.
“It is happening and becoming a reality,” said Bill Rock, COO of Vail, in a news conference. “We are going to create the largest resort in the United States right here in Park City, Utah. It is a bright future and is exciting.”
The new resort will feature more than 7,300 acres of skiable terrain and is part of a $50 million investment project Vail has been working on since it bought Park City last year.
Community members and leaders crowd into the Park City lodge to see the new resort brand. Both skiers and snowboarders will be able to access all of the terrain at the Canyons and Park City this season.
The project features a new gondola system that will take skiers and snowboarders from Park City’s Silverlode Lift to the Flatiron Lift at Canyons. Vail has also planned lift upgrades
