Widtsoe Building demolition begins

Demolition on the Widtsoe Building began May 21. The Widtsoe Building, completed in 1970, was named after John A. Widtsoe, apostle, leading scientist in agriculture and soil chemistry and great friend to BYU.

The nine-story building was the original home of the College of Biology and Agriculture (later renamed the College of Life Sciences).

The building will be demolished over the next 1–2 weeks. All of the faculty offices and labs previously housed in the Widtsoe Building are now housed in the newly completed Life Sciences Building.
