The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints comes together twice a year to receive instruction and edification from church leaders. The leaders often take this time to make announcements about changes in church policy, new temples and anything that impacts the church as a whole.
Whether or not anything life-changing is announced, there are sure to be some pleasant surprises in the spring session of General Conference this weekend. Maybe an auxiliary presidency will be reorganized. Maybe someone will say a prayer in a foreign language. Maybe they’ll announce a BYU-Australia. Maybe the women of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir will switch from their traditional long dresses to skirt-and-blouse combos. Anything can happen at General Conference.
