A Provo pedestrian was reported killed this morning after being hit by a car just south of BYU campus.
BYU Police confirmed that the victim was not a student. They identified the victim as a 42-year-old Provo woman. According to the Provo Police Twitter page, the accident took place at 6:20 this morning on 700 N. University Avenue.
Police and paramedics arrived on the scene and were able to establish a pulse in the victim. However, she passed away soon after this was reported.
At least 10 police cars blocked off roads around University Avenue after the accident this morning, causing some early student commuters to have to find a different route to school.
By 9 a.m. the road was cleared off and all lanes of traffic open.
