The Provo Police Department uncovered a storage shed burglary ring, discovering more than a hundred stolen items.
Officer Rasmussen was the head of the investigation that began on May 25; arrests soon followed.
'Through the proactive efforts of these officers, multiple stolen items will be returned to their rightful owners,' Rick Gregory, Provo Chief of Police, said in a news release. 'We at the Provo Police Department will continue to aggressively pursue these crimes and use every asset at our disposal to both reduce crime and the fear of crime in Provo.'
The investigation led to the arrest of seven suspects. Five were formally charged.
James Pettus and Steve Frost were arrested for burglary and possession of stolen property. Marshall Dyer was arrested for possession of burglary tools and stolen property, in addition to vehicle burglary. Ete Seiuli was arrested for possession of stolen property, methamphetamine and paraphernalia. Cassidy Broadhead was arrested for possession of stolen property.
The Police plan to return the stolen items.
