BYU ATHLETIC COMMUNICATIONS

The Mountain West Conference schedule for BYU men's basketball has been released along with the Cougars' television games being aired by MWC broadcast partners CSTV, Versus and the MountainWest Sports Network. The MWC television package includes 17 regular-season Cougar contests during the 2007-08 season.

Beginning with a nationally televised broadcast against Michigan State at EnergySolutions Arena in Salt Lake City on Dec. 8, the MWC television schedule features two Cougar games on Versus, two on CSTV and 13 on The Mtn. Twelve of BYU's conference contests will be televised along with five nonconference matchups. In addition to Michigan State, BYU's nonconference games being broadcast by MWC television partners include Lamar (Dec. 12, The Mtn.), Pepperdine (Dec. 15, The Mtn.), Southern Utah (Dec. 21, The Mtn.) and Loyola Marymount (Jan. 3, The Mtn.). Any additional television broadcasts and some game times will be announced at a later date.

Including exhibition play, Cougar fans will have the opportunity to attend 18 games in the Marriott Center during the season and also see BYU take on Michigan State at EnergySolutions Arena in Salt Lake City. Season ticket packages can be purchased at the Marriott Center Ticket Office (800-322-BYU1 or 422-BYU1 or online at BYUtickets.com).

The Cougars open MWC play on Jan. 12 when they host Colorado State in the Marriott Center and finish league action on the road at TCU on March 8. MWC games will again follow a primary Wednesday-Saturday schedule, with occasional contests being played on Tuesdays.

After beginning MWC play at home against Colorado State (The Mtn.), the Cougars travel to face UNLV (The Mtn.) on Jan. 15 and Utah on Jan. 19 (VERSUS). BYU finishes the month with home games against San Diego State (The Mtn.) on Jan. 23 and New Mexico (The Mtn.) on Jan. 26, followed by a road game at the Air Force Academy on Jan. 30.

BYU stays on the road to begin the month of February with a Feb. 2 matchup against Wyoming (The Mtn.) in Laramie. TCU comes to the Marriott Center on Feb. 6 followed by BYU's return date at Colorado State on Feb. 13 and home games against UNLV (CSTV) on Feb. 16 and Utah (The Mtn.) on Feb. 20. The Cougars visit San Diego State (CSTV) on Feb. 23 and New Mexico (The Mtn.) on Feb. 26.

Air Force comes to Provo on March 1 and Wyoming visits (The Mtn.) on March 5. BYU concludes the regular season at TCU (The Mtn.) on March 8 prior to the MWC Tournament in Las Vegas March 12-15.

BYU's previously released non-conference schedule features dates with Louisville, Michigan State and Wake Forest, as well as a potential matchup with North Carolina in the 2007 Findlay Toyota Las Vegas Invitational. In all, the Cougars' non-league slate includes 15 games against teams from 12 different conferences, including the Big East, Big Ten and ACC. BYU will play eight games against teams that qualified for last year's NCAA Tournament and 12 contests against opponents that achieved a 20-win season a year ago.

'We look forward to playing some very good teams and participating in this year's Las Vegas Invitational,' Rose said. 'The challenges of our schedule should help us grow as a team and prepare to defend our Mountain West Conference title.'

Prior to the regular season, fans will be able to see BYU in action starting on Oct. 24 with the annual Cougar Tipoff, followed by exhibition games on Nov. 2 against Laval University (Quebec City, Canada) and Nov. 7 against Bryant University (Smithfield, R.I.).
