Persistent Ex-Boyfriend Arrested After Break-In

By Marette McKnight

Even though March is boasting beautiful weather and coming in like a lamb, an American Fork man still feels breaking and entering like a lion is best.

An Orem woman called police after her ex-boyfriend, 30-year-old Trenton Holland, broke into her home by kicking in the door early Saturday morning, (March 10, 2007). Once in, Holland proceeded to assault a 31-year-old male inside the home before fleeing, according to an Orem Police Department news release.

While police were taking a report at the residence, Holland called the victim''s cell phone. An officer answered the call and Holland made further threats saying, 'he and his boys were going to come back over and finish it,' the release said.

While talking to the officer, Holland refused to turn himself in.

Officers located Holland''s car at his brother''s apartment near Utah Valley State College and found Holland inside.

Holland still wouldn''t turn himself in, as he refused to come out of the apartment and would not let officers in.

'Apparently Holland did not have as many of ''his boys'' with him as there were police officers waiting outside,' said Lt. Doug Edwards in the news release.

Holland was finally taken into custody after realizing the officers weren''t going to go away.

'When it became apparent that the officers were not going to leave, Holland concluded that his refusal to exit the apartment was untenable,' Edwards said.

Holland was booked into the Utah County jail and was charged with burglary, assault, resisting arrest and criminal mischief.
