The BYU Bookstore is hosting an author and artist signing event Tuesday through Friday.
'It''s a lot of fun to meet the author, you feel like you get to know even the book better,' said Anita Charles, the supervisor for general book at the BYU Bookstore. 'It''s surprising when you realize they don''t know you as well as you know them.'
Most of the artists and authors signing are LDS and write for the LDS market, Charles said.
There will be never before seen art unveiled on the upper level of the Bookstore today at 12:30 p.m. of Simon Dewey, J. Kirk Richards and Sandra Rast.
A well-known artist attending is Greg Olsen and authors are Ann and Truman Madsen. A BYU professor, Brandon Sanderson, will also be there signing his book.
'We watch to see if crowds will be a problem,' Charles said. 'There should be enough space in order to wrap around the shelves.'
One of the other perks of being around the Bookstore during the signing event is the two sister from Idaho know as the 'quick cake ladies.'
'They were a big hit at Women''s Conference,' Charles said.
The women have a small book on how to make small quick cakes and give out samples.
'It''s like a little party around their table,' Charles said. 'They''re a big hit with my family.'
