The Museum of Art celebrates the holiday season this Saturday with an annual celebration, ?Nostalgic Christmas.?
The celebration is geared toward families and young children. This year?s theme coincides with the museum?s new exhibit ?Nostalgia and Technology.? The party will feature a puppet show, magician, an art project, musical performances by the Wasatch Concert Choir and the Provo District Youth Singers and a visit from Santa.
Chris Wilson, director of marketing and communications at the museum encourages all families to enjoy art and the holidays.
?The joy of Christmas has inspired fine artists in every generation. We hope this celebration will bring generations together in sharing this joyful spirit,? Wilson said.
The museum uses the celebration to thank members of the community for supporting them.
?This is a way of letting the community know that we are there for them,? said Lynda Palma, a museum educator. ?Even though we are a university institution we are very much a part of the community and welcome all in the area.?
The celebration lasts from 1 to 4 p.m. Tickets to the celebration are $2 for individuals and $10 for families, and can be purchased at the museum main desk.
