KAMAS, Utah ? The 11-year-old missing Boy Scout was found alive Tuesday in the Uinta Mountains after being lost for four days, a Boy Scout official told The Associated Press.

Brennan Hawkins was discovered near Lily Lake, three miles northwest of the Boy Scout camp he disappeared from last Friday, Kay Kay Godfrey, director of public relations for the Great Salt Lake Council told the AP.

“He has been found, he is alive, and he”s in pretty good shape for an 11-year-old boy,” Godfrey told the AP.

The medical helicopter could not reach Hawkins where he was, so it landed at a nearby location and planned to take him to a hospital to be examined, Godfrey said.

“It”s a modern day miracle,” he said.

Officials told the AP, Brennan disappeared Friday afternoon on his way to meet a friend at the mess hall.
